"I could give you no advice but this: to go into yourself and to explore the depths where your life wells forth."
Rainer Maria Rilke

Welcome

Stressed, anxious, depressed?
Suffering from traumatic and challenging life events?
Going through difficult times of change and upheaval?
Searching for meaning?

These are a few of the possible reasons why people seek therapeutic help.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist practicing in the Chilterns area and have worked for several years with individuals on a variety of issues.

I will provide a safe and confidential environment for you to bring your concerns and experiences, relate your history, and explore your problems and issues. As you tell your story and receive an empathic response you will be able to work through painful feelings and clarify confusing thoughts; this leads to a new perspective on what troubles you and a deeper connection to who you are and to what is meaningful for you.

Some other reasons for seeking help include:

  • emotional problems
  • stress and anxiety
  • depression
  • loss and bereavement
  • sexuality
  • relationship problems
  • loss of meaning and direction
  • mid-life issues
  • spirituality

Counselling can be relatively short term where a particular issue in your current life is focused on and addressed. In psychotherapy it becomes possible to take a deeper look at underlying patterns and influences in the journey of your life; this can lead to a widening of perspective and a shift in your way of being in the world, a more authentic dialogue between your inner self and your outer life.

My particular style of counselling and psychotherapy

Psychosynthesis is a way of looking at all aspects of the individual: mind, body, feelings, soul and spirit. The depth and breadth of this perspective helps to connect us to our innate wholeness and can unlock potential we are not yet aware of.

As an integrative therapist I draw on varied therapeutic orientations including archetypal and developmental thinking. This enables me to meet you in a flexible and unique way.

I work with dreams, story, myth and imagination when this feels appropriate for you. These symbolic ways of seeing can help us gain access to our deeper self and enrich our experience in the everyday world.

I have diplomas in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling and Integrative Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy from Re-Vision, Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy), and as such abide by their ethical frameworks.

I am also a member of the Therapeia Group, a group of counsellors and psychotherapists who practice in Herts and Bucks.

My fee is £43 to £50 for a 50 minute weekly session. Some concessions may be negotiable.

My practice is in Chesham, Bucks and there is free parking available.
